You never know what you will see at Big Granite Inline Marathon/Half Marathon

Big Granite Inline Marathon/Half Marathon (June 28, 2008) is a great race held in the small community of Marengo, Wisconsin just 13 miles South of Ashland.
One year a deer jumped out to check the race out and nearly stole the show. A local Doctor that was participating in the race came head to head or should we say head to back with the overgrown “Bambi”. Everyone just couldn’t believe it. “Bambi” got the heck out of there quickly and the skating Doctor got a huge round of applause from the crowd!!!!
Last year (2007) the race was just about to start and the Race Director radioed in to delay the start because there was a bull on the course!!! We had so much fun with that one at the start line. One of the organizers from the Ashland Chamber said “everyone in red go to the start for the bull fight”, it was hilarious. The skaters got a kick out of it!!! The local Marengo farmer had to go and get his bull off the course! The delay wasn’t long but made for a great story!!!! Like we said, “You never know what you will see at the Big Granite Inline Marathon/Half Marathon, (on paved roads with chip timing) June 28th, 2008. Don’t miss out; come to beautiful Ashland, Wisconsin.
